Adnan, thanks again.
The Matrix movie was not simply a special effect movie. It was a philosophy. We all really live in a matrix. The matrix this time is not developed by machines but by our system. In India, if BJP is in power Congress and other will allege that history has been "Saffronised". But when Congress is in power, it will not miss any chance to do its own share of damage to Indian hostory. We know everything about MK Gandhi, Veer Savarkar and even about Nathu Ram Godse but we dont know much about Netaji, Shastri ji and Patel. Yes we have movies who show all these gr8 leaders but how many times we go and wath these movies. Bhagat Singh was famous as Ajay Devgun played his role. I remembered whole of the Punjab was bearing Bhagat Singh style moustaches. What now? Now after RDB every one is awakend and wants to "Be a rebel"

Our ideals are now filmi stars ,like sharukh khan,Keanu Reeves etc etc,its not our fault,we have been forced to forget our real heroes, curse upon politicians who altr history for their own sake.

Thanks Adnan, You know my view points on many issues. I have to hold many posts just to keep discussion going on this topic.
why do we forget hero?
Its true and I will invite any one to contest me on this point that Bhagat Singh and lot others are responsible for freedom of India and ofcourse Pakistan. You mentioned Gen Bakht. I am sorry I never read about General Bakht. Really feeling bad for this.
And I will highlight this point again. Why do we forget our heros?
Still sad to say this post is incomplete.

We use our celebrities as an excuse to fulfill our fantasies or finishing pending works, people wait for such holidays not for sake of those people but for their own sake.Whether its 14th of August in Pakistan or 15th in India.

Bhagat Singh adn Gen Bakht both fought against Farangis in 19th centuries.I would love to know how Bakht khan is presented in indian text books.

Kumar nice post man, maza aya parh kar :)

Thanks a lot Fizaa.
For the sake of posting more stuff on my blog I will say this is complete. There is only one point I want to make. Why do we forget our heroes? We do remeber them
a) Foreigners highlight them in their research work, I call this as imported.
b) Media for its TRP ratings, they always need to present some thing to compete
c) Bollywood for earning more revenue and awards
d) Or more worst when there is no holiday on "Shahedi Diwas"
Only people who think like me came forward and read and commented and helped me find an answer. I am not satisfied. What is wrong with our attitude? Why the "Ghar ki murgi is daal barabar"? I am not balming any one. Neither I am trying to say that I am great as I think for my country. But Why do we always forget that Indipendence movement gained momentum after Bhagat Singh. Why do we forget that Mr. Gandhi could have saved Bhagat Singh. There are many controversial issues I want to discuss. I want people, basically we the Indians not to wait for another "RDB" to be released to remeber our freedom fighters. Thats all.
No more further comments now but am not satisfied...
So the post is still there...incomplete.

Hi...:)
I dont know what is the element that you are trying to look to complete this post or topic...!
But, as I said...different individuals have different aspirations and they strive for it...and believe me when I saw Rang De Basanti...I thgt tht was a lesson for Indians that...some British gal remembered the three great heroes...and came to India to make a movie and how many were initially willing to do so? also when they did agree they did for that gal :)......
Its Indian tradition...to treat less the people from our own parts...ghar ki murgi daal barabar...and we treat the guests like a god :)...atithi devo bhav :D

I look at this from this point...that we can always educate people...bring awareness...and then we can remember...people should build statue of these heroes...I hv not been to Punjab ..may they hv there ...all I say is the day should be remarked and one should at least give 1 mint silence to observe in respect to those heroes!
I understand Kargil was a horrible thing to even discuss and remember...as I was in India that time and the kind of news that one could hear was very painful...war has not given anything good...we must learn from history always!!!!
Kumar...I dont know what is it making this topic incomplete...a solution is something too optimistic to look at...but at least we know what should be done :) what say?
Cheers

Abrar and Fizaam thanks for comments.
Abrar, Rgarding Gandhi, I just oppose his policies. Not personal grudges againat that man. But it is really painful to see no refrence to the other heros who gave their lives for the motherland.
And a very very very good point raised by Indians settled abroad. Keshi, Chandni and Fizaa, very few people are like you. Very few. 5% or 10%. Max 15%. Yes this makes a difference but come to India and see the actual picture. I see people around me doing anything for a visa.
One point I will make clear.
I am not calling anyone traiter.
We blame rotten system for everything wrong but do nothing to rectify it. And more over we don't value our heros. Lets for one moment forget the independenc movement and see the modern history. Kargill. Do we remember who got the PVC. My batchmate were up in their arms and one even came to blows as I was not agreeing with them on the numbers of PVC given in Kargill. Very shamefull.
And true fizaa, very true u said. We, the Indians, master the art of blaming each other. Once I told Abrar that fighting with own brothers is culture of South Asea. Indian Crab Mentality.
The post is still incomplete...

Nice post ...very thought provoking too :)
I knew this will come some where...as March 23rd is remembered for Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru...indeed one must pay respect to them ..but holiday would be...I dont know ...it can be done as holiday for kids...that way the value of it can be understood well by the next generation...!
People who are staying in the country ..dont care...then why people who left country long back...how can one call them traitors...? I know some of my friends..whose grand-parents came to islands on a ship as slaves that too at the age of 13-14...what would you call them as traitors? they came out of India for better prospects...it will surprise you that even though they left India in those era...still they carry the culture and tradition in much better way that the people living in India.
So..rather than distracting from the main issue...blaming at others...or even eachother is not the solution.
I think Indians they are good at blaming and then fighting hence the middle man comes and tries to rule..!
We should always learn from history...but not repeat history.

It was indeed a good post..Thnx dear

cheers

Even I did not know anyhthing about Bhagat Sign till I saw Rang De Basanti....... which reminds me I have to see that Ajay Devgan movie!! He seems inspirational!!

But your right, even in our history books in Pakistan, they mention all the Muslims and Hindus and their efforts before independence.. but there is no mention of Bhagat Singh!! However, all details of Ghandi are there in full detail!!
