Outsource is very infamous word. Half of US outsources their jobs to India and still cries against outsourcing. I read on some website that in US, T-shirts bearing “We hate Chinese stuff.” were sold and these Ts were outsourced from China. Now how true this can be is another matter. But Outsourcing is making an impact on Indian economy. I am surprised to see the teenagers or 20 somethings making money. In my city there are many call centers and many more are coming up. One of my friend had once planned to open an international call center but some how the idea didnt work out. They even hired a consultant butat the end they decided to concentrate on domestic setup only.
So wats the big deal in outasourcing?
Is it against any country?
Specially against US?
Lets find it by an example.
I have lot of cloths that are calling for immidiate washing. As I am a lonely guy the only one who can take care of the mess is me. So the only resurce that can be utilised to wash cloths is me. But I
a) am lazy
b) Dont have enough time
c) Don’t have proper equipments, mainly tubs, buckets and or washing machine. Just moved to new place.
So I have decided to outsource this job. Dhobi has agreed to wash and then iron my cloths@6Re per cloth. Good. Outsourcing this job to a dhobi will help me in saving
a) my invest ment on euipments.
b) Time, the most valuabale thing
c) Extra money which I will give dhobi to iron my Cotton trousers even if I wash them myself. Ironing is an issue. I can iron my cloths myself but the Ironing done by Dhobi is high quality.
Now If I compare the costs with resources that I have, outsourcing makes sense to me.
As it happens anywhere, as soon as the news broke out to the world that I am going to outsource this job many Indians have approached me with WOW plans. But I have decided to rely on dhobi nearest to me as he is
a) easily approachable
b) giving a good deal
c) can b scolded if he delivered bad “Quality”
Moreover his turnaround time is very low. 3 days. And he is offering pick and drop service at no extra cost.
What else I need?
PS: some one still suggested I must get married. Not because my wife will wash my cloths becaouse she will force me to buy a washing machine.
