dont worry about it , there wouldnt be any need to remove reservation, it would automatically gets removed, in fact , i was looking at some cut of marks, i believe it was nagpur university, the SC cut off marks were higher than generals, in this case, it was general category who were at advantage in fact they were the reserved category, because it was easier to get admission if were open category, after 10 years , this will be the case in many places, SCs are 16.5% of population but reservation is 15%, which means , if they are equal in terms of economical status and other things, SCs will be at a disadvantage , because more percentage of people will compete for less proportion of seats , ie more competition than generals, so dont worry about it

Shanti, do you think that Govt of India will be able to remove reservation after 10 years? In a country where people do not understand the value of vote this is next to impossible. So IMO, there should not be something like this at first place.

i like the point that reservation should be based on economical factor, my logic is that most SC/ST are ecoomical poor, if that holds, SC/STs would automatically get the reservation. I believe there are lot of non SC/STs who are economically deprived, they would also get an opportunity.

i think its just the game of numbers, believe it or not , its was the reservation that has helped SC/STs to attain good positions, i had seems statistics , some census , which records STs at the bottoms, with very very low income, SCs though have improved much, but still much below OBCs and General. OBC and General are more or less at par, I think give SCs another decade, they would rise at least 60% of the general category in terms of economically parity, then definitely reservation can take off or may be only for STs who are still economically very very poor, you seem to have open mind, you seem to make sense also, perhaps, there is no hatred against anyone, favoritism is kind of human nature , irrespective of the caste. You should interact with labors/other poor community , i have sometimes surprised by some of the intelligent guys , thought came to my mind , if they would have been education, they would have been capable officers

Shanti, I am against caste/creed based reservation. It has done more harm to the system and Indian mentality than any benefit. In the post I mentioned Hari. Hari was the only *poor* guy from reserved category. Unfortunately he dropped out of the school. I am not bluffing but he used to be a back bencher with me. All the other guys from reserved category had better education and believe when I say they were financially much better than me at that time. My dad had borrowed 300 Rs for my school fee. Not all of reserved category guys were poor at studies, some were genuinely good and they just had an extra edge, reservation. General category students fight hard for marks but a guy with half of your score takes the opportunity easily, that hurts.
I can give a rational though to reservation based on economical or geographical factor. Its obvious that some one coming from a rural or a tribal belt doesn't have access to better education and he/she deserves reservation in education as well as some other services. But not beyond that. If you are capable enough you just need a small push. On not being promoted because no one wants a SC/ST boss, you surely are talking of edge cases which our media wants to highlight. But media won't highlight that my dad was transferred to a lower post by his SC/ST boss. The "nepotism/favouritism" is not an exclusive domain of Brahmans.
I am not spreading hatred against any one. If you fail to understand my point against reservation then you have a prejudice against higher caste and already have hatred for them.

anti reservation is all bullshit , its more like potraying lower caste, that they dont deserve anything. everybody forgets the way their ancestors were treated , dogs were allowed to enter a temple not these guys, if these person would drink water from well , cowshit was thrown to purify it . The point is that centuries of this behavior made these guys economically very poor, illeterate. you cannot expect that these guys who had to fight for their daily living to score good marks , only a significantly smaller percentage of these guys have access to good education and the facilities which other guys have. if you collect data on waht percentage of SC/ST guys had access to proper coaching , the numbers would be just scary , which clearly means , general guys had undue advantage over the control of resources, how would you nullify this , one solution is reservation. thousands of general candidates get entry into private colleges , why ? because they got the money , it does not matter how badly they have performed , if reservation is banned , this has to be banned too. no body struggles against this , reality is that if there were no reservation the cut of might come down from say 95% to 94% , not much , you will still have lot of guys above 90% getting any good sits, you cannot make an agenda for such small change in number. its better to banned admisssion on the power of money , this will do lot of good. I think as a true patriot , we should try to help the poor and disadvantaged to make progress , imagine if there were no reservation , SC/ST which forms 23% of the population would still be very poor and be exploited. SC / ST cut off is steadily increased over the year , in some cases it is very close. its just few more years, then there wont be any need for reservation , as there will be no difference between the cut of marks between general and reserved category.

some people think , they these guys make poor engineers/doctors , which is quite not justified, these people forget the reserved guys have to pass to be engineers/doctors .
even the rich guys are becoming doctors in private colleges , but they have to pass.

even though there are prejudices against these lower cast guys because constant onslaught of negative opinion about these while he was growing up, blaming these guys rather than earning an extra percentage point to be selected , we should consider them as deprived brethren understand their conditions , similary, the tribals who always have to shoulder the burdern of big corporates profit ambitions should be supported, we should contribute to the old age homes wherein parents have been thrown by their children, we should help the street children who are deprioved of education ,

Generally , the reservations are limited to entry level , it is very difficult for an SC/ST candidate to reach higher levels because of inherent prejudices generated against these guys , its hard for a SC/ST guy to get support from officers at higher levels . it is a fact that there is lot of nepotism/favouritism in India, these guys do not such kind of support at higher level , in many cases a talented SC/ST guy would be deprived of promotion, because nobody wants to see him get promoted , cause the ones giving promotion belongs to general category. no one talks about this , there is still lot of struggle remaining for the reserved guys. so Stop spreading hatred towards the SC/ST guys, and understand that their progress along with other deprived sections of indian society is required for a strong and powerful country

finally aamir khan has decided to support the quota system, which is his democratic right.

he will soon be writing to arjun singh giving directions and guidelines to implement the policy.

as supreme court is also going to hear petitions about reservation policy, aamir will HIMSELF continuously monitor the situation and provide guiance to govt. as and when he thinks necessary.

He may be joined also by shabana azmi and mahesh bhatt in due course.
