Few days back, too many days back, more than month or 2 months, I dont remember the day, but Keshi posted an entry on her blog. She wanted to know for what reason we are here? What are we doing here on this planet? What is the purpose of our existence? Too many whys and whats. Full of philosophy. This is one of my favorite topic. I also Love Physics, maths and arts. Poetry, specially Urdu poetry, is my favorite. After reading the article I tried to use my knowledge and tried to find out what we all do?
I had a discussion with 3 people, me being the atheist, one devout Hindu, one moderate Hindu and one Gnadhian. The topic started with very simple thing what is GOD? We were sitting in a cafe. As anybody will do, all presented their view point. My viewpoint was very simple and straight, religion is nothing but set of rules created by some people who always worried they will loose their leadership if they didnt setup some rules. If we look at religion as set of rules which “top management” just forces on “us”, the things will be clear.
The moderate Hindu kind of agreed with me, her argument, who wrote Geeta, Bible, Koran and or other holy books, humans and to err is human. So she was bit skeptic. In fact she said she is skeptic.
Our devout Hindu fellow said, these were all created by those who were “enlightened” by almighty GOD. The enlightened fellows wanted to share their knowledge and wanted us to get enlighten. He agreed on one thing, all these holy books have been misinterpreted.
Our Gandhian fellow, he was provoked by my comment on Mahatama Gandhi, said barring some books none is religious in nature
End of the was done by me coz things were going no where.
But questions remain. Its a valid statement that all holy books were written by humans. True. And to err is human and blaming other humans for errors is more human. So what is the religion? As my pal Adnan once said, Islam will never ask any body to kill. Still we have Islamic terrorist. Not only Islamic we have all kind of religious terrorists. These terrorists not only kill people but entice others to kill in the name of religion.
So in the end it was agreed upon, religion is nothing but set of rules defined by humans, who can go wrong and the present state of affairs is not good.
but at last, I still dont find any existence of GOD.

Dude I agree fully with you. Everyone has his or her own interpretation of religion.
Following a religion blindly is of no good. Your karam is what matters. Every religious book says this – be it Geeta, Koran or Guru Granth Sahib.
Interesting.
Well as u said, opinions differ cos it’s a very subjective area. ppl believe what they wanna believe. So we cant really have definite and clear results.
Religion may be a set of rules that ppl created. But how can we apply the same theory on God?
Keshi.
