Lately I have been working with *nix based systems. As of today I have 2 workstations, an iMac and a Kubuntu based box and an Ubuntu server.
Apart from these I have Ubuntu on my laptop. This post is being composed in Firefox on Ubuntu only. This is me.
Now, my work place is full of Microsoft professionals who just swear by windows and the aero effects of Vista. They have stopped talking about any of these effects and any performance issue when I installed Ubuntu in just 30 mins, with Office and everything else, and enabled desktop effects on my Ubuntu machine. The expression was 
. My team is using Ubuntu and we have moved to Linux completely. Upgrading an Ubuntu system is as easy as finding a package, selecting it for installation and clicking a button. 3 steps. Moreover you can get Ubuntu CDs shipped free to you. YES!!! You dont have to pay a single dime. Its free. Free as in freedom. Some times free as free beer.
Even I was amazed. I used to struggle with dependencies on my RHEL box. There is no such issue with Ubuntu. Adept and Synaptic package managers along with apt-get command take care of everything. You just need an internet connection and will to look for a package. Thats it.
In coming days I will be formatting my Lappy again and this time I intend to install Gutsy Gibbon.
